“I’ve been coming to The Children’s Center for eight years. I started with my first-born son, Alan. I was 17 years old at the time. Now I have three children. Alan is 13, Jasmine is 8, and Alvin is 5. When I was pregnant, The Children’s Center helped me get the things I would need for my new baby — bottles, a car seat, and clothes. And now, all three of my children have ADHD, so we come to The Children’s Center to learn how to deal with it. The kids learn how to focus and control their behavior and I learn how to be a better parent.

The skills I have learned here have made me a better mom. They have taught me how to control my anger, and how to not be shy and advocate for myself. I’ve learned the importance of praising my kids when they do something good, how to talk to them and to understand their behaviors. I’ve learned how to focus on calming them down and calming myself down when they are having behavior issues.

We really love The Children’s Center. The doors are always open and they try to help in any way they can. We love going to the birthday parties, family game nights, and the boutique. If it weren’t for The Children’s Center, I don’t know where we would be. We are so thankful for everything they have done.”
