Changing Lives Through our Annual Fundraising Breakfast
On May 14th, our annual Power of Possibilities Breakfast will celebrate its 11th anniversary. It’s an event we hold close to our hearts for many reasons. Since 2004, the event has raised more than $3M in unrestricted contributions to help us continue our mission.
Empowering Detroit Children Through Your Donations
The event, presented by Ford Motor Company, is free to attend. It’s an inspiring one-hour program with a free-will donation opportunity at the end.
A Little Giving History
Held at The Westin Book Cadillac in downtown Detroit, the event attracts more than 500 community business and civic leaders each year. At the inaugural event, The Children’s Center launched its Village of Giving Circle. Now, more than 100 members belong to this circle, each pledging a minimum of $1,000 per year for five years.
What’s in Store at This Year’s Breakfast
This year’s event theme is “I Can. I Will.” The children we serve face extraordinary challenges – from inconceivable abuse to unimaginable trauma, poverty, neglect and mental illness. But what never disappears is their determination. Their resolve to reach their own impossible, and become more than even they imagined.
At this year’s program, you’ll learn how you can help us in our mission to champion the possibilities within every child – turning fear into courage, brokenness into bravery and trauma into triumph.
