The Children’s Center hosted our 22nd Annual Power of Possibilities Breakfast at MotorCity Casino & Hotel on May 12, 2026.
This morning was an opportunity for community members to listen with intention, reflect on what children need to thrive, and stand alongside them as they are heard—now and into the future. For those who joined us, you became a vital partner in advancing healing, hope, and possibility for Detroit’s youth.

When children are heard, communities change. For nearly 100 years, The Children’s Center has been a symbol of hope for children and families across Detroit and Wayne County. Our mission is rooted in listening—elevating children’s voices, igniting their potential, and helping them heal, grow, and thrive.
The Power of Possibilities Breakfast is a mission-driven gathering that brings these voices to the forefront. During the program, we heard directly from the brave young people and families we serve, whose stories reflect both the challenges they face and the strength they carry.
