We invite you to join The Children’s Center at our 22nd Annual Power of Possibilities Breakfast at MotorCity Casino & Hotel on May 12, 2026.

When children are heard, communities change. For more than 95 years, The Children’s Center has been a symbol of hope for children and families across Detroit and Wayne County. Our mission is rooted in listening—elevating children’s voices, igniting their potential, and helping them heal, grow, and thrive.

Each year, we support more than 4,000 children and families, providing critical mental and behavioral health services that help young people process trauma, build resilience, and shape their own futures.

The Power of Possibilities Breakfast is a mission-driven gathering that brings these voices to the forefront. During the program, you will hear directly from the brave young people and families we serve, whose stories reflect both the challenges they face and the strength they carry.

This morning is an opportunity to listen with intention, reflect on what children need to thrive, and stand alongside them as they are heard—now and into the future. By joining us, you become a vital partner in advancing healing, hope, and possibility for Detroit’s youth.

Host a Table

A Table Captain–Led Breakfast

The Power of Possibilities Breakfast is a Table Captain–led event, powered by passionate supporters who believe every child deserves to be seen, heard, and empowered.

Each year, dedicated volunteers step forward to serve as Table Captains—inviting friends, family, colleagues, and community members to join them at this inspiring morning. By hosting and filling a table, Table Captains introduce their networks to the mission of The Children’s Center and help expand the circle of impact for children and families across Detroit.

During the breakfast, guests are invited to make a meaningful gift to support our work. Table Captains play an important role in preparing their guests for this opportunity—encouraging them to attend with an open heart and consider investing in the children and families who rely on our services.

This peer-to-peer approach makes the event deeply personal and incredibly powerful. Guests attend because someone they trust invited them—and many choose to give because they feel inspired to be part of the impact.
