Who We
Support
Crisis to Connection focuses on Black boys ages 7–12 in Greater Detroit. Many of them have experienced trauma or have faced barriers to healthcare that affect emotional well-being, school success, and safety. Our goal is to improve how communities respond so children are met with understanding, stability, and opportunity.
Our Approach
Black boys in Detroit are often diagnosed with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) without their trauma or systemic barriers being addressed. Crisis to Connection works across systems to strengthen how adults and partner organizations support children, using trauma-informed care, training, and collaborative strategies to transform outcomes and create lasting change.

Our Strategy
Training & Capacity Building
We help professionals and partners better understand trauma and how it affects children.
Community Collaboration
In the future, we hope to work with schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations to improve coordination and access to care.
Community Engagement
Trusted partners will join us to help spread awareness and connect families to resources.
