The Mask You Live In
September 12 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
“The Mask you Live In” is a 90 min. film—produced by The Representation Project— that follows boys and young men as they struggle to stay true to themselves while negotiating America’s narrow definition of masculinity. Research shows that compared to girls, boys in the U.S. are more likely to be diagnosed with a behavior disorder, prescribed stimulant medications, fail out of school, binge drink, commit a violent crime, and/or take their own lives.
The Children’s Center and the Wayne County Fatherhood Initiative will be hosting a viewing of “The Mask you Live In” on September 12, beginning at 12:00 p.m. with a light lunch and start time of 12:30 p.m. A panel discussion will follow to continue the conversation and highlight awareness.
