In collaboration with WDIV Local 4 News, The Children’s Center of Wayne County is hosting a donation drive to support children and families in foster care. Many children enter foster care with little to no belongings of their own—together, we can change that.
On March 18th, WDIV Local 4 will join us to collect much-needed items, including:
- New large/X-large duffle bags
- Gently used luggage (wheeled with telescoping handles)
- New socks and underwear (all sizes)
- New hygiene essentials (see full list below)

Accepted Items
To best serve our families, please ensure all donations meet the following guidelines:
Luggage
- New or gently used (excellent working condition)
- Wheeled with telescoping handle
Duffle Bags
- New, Large or X-Large
Socks & Underwear (all new)
- Sizes for boys, girls, men, and women
Hygiene Items (all new)
- Body wash
- Shampoo and conditioner
- Toothbrush and toothpaste
- Feminine hygiene products
- Razors and shaving cream
- Deodorant
- Hair combs and brushes
